Paul Clark MP, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the DFT, met with a delegation from Motor Codes and VOSA officials yesterday to discuss plans for self regulating vehicle testing stations.

Motor Codes wants the Government to make its Code of Practice for Service and Repair compulsory for MOT workshops.

Motor Codes said the meeting was “positive” and “moved forward discussions that will see DFT actively promoting the positive benefits of Code subscription to VOSA garages”.

“We are proud of the high levels of support that Motor Codes has gained from various government departments, consumer groups and industry,” said Chris Mason, Motor Codes director.

“As discussed today with the DFT, our plans for this year focus on recruiting MOT service stations and demonstrating to them how the Service and Repair Code can enhance their good customer service image, complementing the high standards set by VOSA.”
