NGK gives garages chance to win a VW and increase profits

NGK-PromotionThree lucky winners could drive away with a new brand new Volkswagen Up by simply ordering NGK products before January 31 2014.

The latest promotion from the spark plug manufacturer has sees it team up with Unipart Automotive to offer independent garages the chance to win a number of instant prizes from a scratch card.

NGK’s Plug and Go campaign gives workshops who order its spark plugs, glow plugs or NTK sensors from Unipart an opportunity to win an iPad Mini, Xbox One, or one of 40,000 Cadbury’s Boost bars.

Whether a technician wins or not, they will be given the chance to enter themselves into a draw to grab a new Volkswagen Up.

NGK has also taken the opportunity to advise independent garages about including spark plugs in their servicing routine, adding that the health of these parts is not only vital for the car’s wellbeing but also a good revenue opportunity for workshops as well.

Tim Ward, Deputy General Manager of Sales and Marketing at NGK, said: “There is a tendency for some garages not to replace spark plugs to keep the price of a service down, but their replacement should be part of the service as they play an integral role in a vehicle’s economy and emissions’ performance.

“A misfire of a spark plug can allow unburned fuel to enter the catalytic converter which in some cases can shorten its life or cause severe damage.

“There is an opportunity for garages to increase their spark plug sales by educating consumers.”
