AUTOINFORM LIVE ONCE AGAIN

The 2017 edition of the AutoInform Live technical training and networking event  has been held once again at the GTG Academy in Wolverhampton with around 200 attendees.

Diagnostic training expert and workshop owner, Frank Massey was on-hand to deliver training sessions on future technologies and industry issues, such as ‘Pumping losses’ – the mechanical inefficiency of a gasoline engine caused by the position of the throttle – and vibration analysis.

Speaking about the event, Massey said: “The event changes every year, and each time we try to put a different ‘flavour’ on it; for example, we might concentrate on ignition, common rail or emissions, which is a really big issue at the moment”.

“It means we have to do a lot of research – which is great for us – and to-date it’s been really well received. We’re getting good numbers and the right calibre of people: those who want to progress and succeed in the industry.”

Schaeffler’s Technical Services Manager, Malcolm Short added: “We try to refresh the event every year, with more presentations, updated content and new suppliers.

“The garages love that this event takes place at the weekend: we did a survey after the Edinburgh show and people responded overwhelmingly that they wanted it on Saturday and Sunday as it meant they weren’t taking time out of their busy working weeks.”

AutoInform Live launched in 2014 with the support of the Original Equipment Suppliers Aftermarket Assoc. (OESAA), replacing a series of conferences organised by the Massey family. There was also an addition of the show held in Glasgow earlier this year.

AUTOINFORM GOES LIVE THIS WEEKEND

There’s just time to get your hands on one of the last places for this year’s Autoinform LIVE event, being held this weekend at the GTG Academy in Wolverhampton.

The event is the UK’s biggest and best workshop training event, featuring 24 timetabled training sessions – each delivered by an OESAA-approved trainer – separated into three colour-coded packages to help simplify the event for new attendees.

Autoinform LIVE has carefully tailored its package options to suit delegates old and new, with ‘Green’ modules aimed at first time visitors, ‘Amber’ sessions targeted at those who have visited the event twice and ‘Red’ for those who have attended every show since it began three years ago. (More information on the training modules available can be found here)

A gala dinner will once again take place on Saturday evening, with popular comedian Mick Miller now confirmed to help provide a lively end to the first day. The entire weekend costs just £195 +VAT, which includes all training, lunch and refreshments at the GTG Academy, plus a Gala Dinner ticket including welcome drinks, meal, entertainment and coach transfers from selected hotels.rsz_gtgwolverhampton

OESAA GARAGE TRAINING EVENT CONFIRMED

rsz_gtgwolverhamptonIndependent workshop owners Frank and David Massey are putting on conference and ‘hands-on training event’ in November. The event, to be known as AutoInform Live takes its name from the technical e-zine produced by the Masseys.

The two-day seminar is being held at the GTG Academy in Wolverhampton on Saturday, November 29 and Sunday, November 30. Independent workshops keen to improve their knowledge and skills will be able to get to grips with the latest tools and products and attend technical demonstrations and presentations.

The event is sponsored by the Original Equipment Suppliers Aftermarket Association (OESAA) campaign, which is keen for well-known technicians to be associated with it. Campaign Chair nigel Morgan said: “It is our job to make this an interactive, must attend conference. If we don’t provide formal training and educate garages then the independent automotive aftermarket will fall behind. The garages who are willing to make a small investment in time and money to attend are the ones we want to talk to.”

David Massey said: “It’s a technical conference, similar to the FMN conferences that we’ve done in the past, but far more practical. We’ve got full workshop facilities.”

Massey has always supported the OE parts campaign. “If a customer wants to supply his own parts, I make him take their car somewhere else – I do not fit non-genuine parts – period” he concluded.
