Warning issued over illegal refrigerant cylinders

Supplier National Refrigerants has issued a warning over illegal cylinders of R1234yf it has identified on sale in the UK.

It claimed the cylinders do not originate from an approved supplier and may not contain the necessary stabilising additives. 

The cans also display conflicting tare weight information and do not have their contents weight printed, while also missing a Transportable Pressure Equipment (TPE) marking.

It has warned against purchasing or using the product and has called on non-compliant refrigerants to be reported to National Refrigerants, the Trading Standards Authority or the Environment Agency.
