BREAKING: FRANKFURT SHOW MOVED TO 2022

Organisers of Automechanika have confirmed that the main show in Frankfurt will now return in 2022.

Frankfurt show now moved to September 2022

A smaller, mainly domestic, event will take place at the Frankfurt showground this year, alongside an online networking event known as ‘Digital Plus’. However, organisers were quick to point out that this is a ‘once only’ event, and the regular calendar will resume from 2022.

“As a result of the continuing difficulties posed by the pandemic, we will not be able to satisfy our customers’ expectations for a leading international trade fair this September,” said showrunner Detlef Braun.

“Not only does the event require official approvals, but it also has to be possible to travel internationally”.

Meanwhile, Automechanika Birmingham, which has shifted to a biennial format to avoid clashing with the Frankfurt show, is now in talks with exhibitors to agree a way forward as the next even is currently scheduled for June 2022.

“When  the same thing  happened around a  year ago, we engaged with our exhibitors and they decided that they would like the Birmingham event to in turn be postponed, to alternate with Frankfurt” said Simon Albert, MD of Messe Frankfurt UK.

“We will be talking to them again in the coming days to ensure we make a decision about the 2022 event based on their needs, and we are aiming to make a quick decision”.

Automechanika Frankfurt will now take place 13-17 September 2022
