Vehicle remarketer Copart UK has launched a customer-facing website to encourage motorists to sell their vehicle to the firm, regardless of condition.

Under the CashForCars brand, which is already used in North America and Germany, drivers will be able to get a quote and agree a sale online

The firm is also happy to come and collect the vehicles, meaning the service can be useful for people with non-runners, MOT failures or vehicles that can’t be used on a public road for any other reason.


Mark Godfrey, Director of Strategy & Automotive Division at Copart, said: We pride ourselves on offering a simple, transparent, and hassle-free process, with honest and accurate valuations, and a variety of convenient collection or drop-off options across the UK and Ireland.”

The new proposition is one of a number of online car buying services offered by retail groups. Cazoo launched ‘Sell My Car’ earlier this month, rival CarWow acquired the Wizzle platform and dealer group Peter Vardy also launched a direct buying service.


Meanwhile, SMMT figures show that used car transactions were up 109 percent on 2020 in Q2 this year, meaning the supply of vehicles is low, which in turn forces the prices up.
