Garages advised not to rely on one diagnostic tool

63563saaSaab-Service-TechnicianWorkshops need to invest in more than one piece of diagnostic equipment to survive says Launch UK.

Managing Director Dave Richards acknowledges that the independent aftermarket has come a long way in embracing diagnostic equipment, but it still needs further support in ensuring they have a full solution.

It says the days of owning only one diagnostic tool are over, as technicians will be no longer offer the best possible service and coverage.

Richards said: “Choosing a diagnostic tool is often more about choosing the provider ahead of the product. Workshops and motor factors have to ensure the service and support is in place to help them with getting the most from the product. This includes extensive vehicle coverage, cost-effective updates and good hardware, all of which have been the backbone of our growth over the past ten years.”

He added that a number of garages still don’t have any diagnostic equipment and many still look to one piece that will cover everything, although the market is constantly changing.

Garages need to adopt a diagnostic solution that they can then build on, and Launch UK believes its latest solutions can cater for all budgets. The X-431 PRO offers a comprehensive solution for technicians covering a large number of American, Asian and European vehicle manufacturers.

“Products have become extremely easy to use and intuitive enabling technicians to simply connect, select the vehicle and run the fault diagnosis. New vehicles were out of reach for the aftermarket but with new diagnostic solutions, we’re ensuring workshops can capture more of the new vehicle market.”

  1. I bought the X431-PRO a few months ago and all I can say is WOW. Lightening fast and massive coverage across 72 manufacturers! For the price it is a no brainer, excellent piece of kit well recommended.
