Inside Line: Moog

The Challenge:

The fitting bolts which are used to attach the wishbone to the sub-frame and the knuckle joint on the Ford Ka have a tendency to break during removal of the worn part. As a precautionary measure it is always recommended to replace these bolts when fitting new wishbones. Therefore if the bolts are not easy to hand, the repair of the new components can become more difficult and time consuming than usual.

The solution:

MOOG has introduced wishbone bolt kits into the range – including both sub-frame and pinch bolts and nuts. An easy-store plastic box has been developed which includes various sizes of bolts and nuts, and fits a number of different Ford vehicles. MOOG wishbone bolts are made from the highest quality steel, and precision engineered. The special zinc chromate coating protects against external pollution like water, mud, sand, and stones, thus avoiding rust and damage.
