Mini follows Mercedes lead for some of the independent SMR pie

by

Mini-Recovery-ServiceMini is aiming to take a piece of the service, maintenance and repair market away from the independent aftermarket in the same vein as Mercedes.

It has launched its own free recovery service for motorists involved in an accident, which is available to all Mini owners irrespective of age of the vehicle.

The recovery service, available 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, will see the vehicle taken to the nearest Mini Approved Repairer or kept it in storage overnight.

This announcement comes less than a month after Mercedes-Benz announced it was releasing a similar service for drivers of its vehicles, which aims to take some of the angst and stress out of the situation for its customers.

But it could see it take more business away from the independent aftermarket as the vehicle will be taken directly to an Approved Bodyshop.
