PROMOTIONAL ARTICLE ON BEHALF OF MOTUL
MOTUL: A PASSION FOR INVENTION AND NOW A HUNGER TO MAKE ITS MARK IN THE UK AFTERMARKET
If you exist in the world of Motorsport, or ride a Motorcycle, you will know Motul.
In fact, the brand has been lubricating machines since 1853 – long before the invention of the motor car, and today it is going stronger than ever.
THE COMPLETE WORKSHOP PARTNER FOR LUBRICANTS AND FLUIDS
The Motul range is expansive and Motul is able to provide complete workshop lubricating solutions, with products of real quality and excellent cost-effectiveness.
With lubricating solutions for engines of all sorts, Motul’s products further extend to transmission oils, brake fluids, greases, workshop spray products, cooling fluids, antifreeze, hydraulic fluids and a specialist range of Motul Classic lubricants for passenger cars – as well as a similarly wide range for Motorcycles, where Motul is the UK’s leading lubricant band – with more than 20 percent market share.
OE APPROVALS AND STATUS
As would be expected, Motul boasts manufacturer approvals from most mainstream Vehicle Manufacturers. Motul is also gaining OE status with a growing number of manufacturers. Ruf recently joined the likes of Brabus, Caterham, Glickenhaus, Nismo, BAC Mono, Radical, and Subaru, in the car sector, together with Suzuki, Pramac, Sherco, Norton, Ural, Horex and MV Agusta in other sectors.
The company is also growing its ranges in CV, Agriculture and Marine, as well as catering for industrial applications of all sorts, which includes a vast array for metalworking fluids.
Latest to market is Motul’s Car Care range, which complements the other cleaning and maintenance products the company offers for the workshop. All products have been specifically adapted to suit the requirements of the different components and surfaces, and thus ensure top results. The series includes glass cleaner, tire puncture spray, scratch remover, car shampoo, express shine, insect remover, rim cleaner, plastics cleaner, leather cleaner, upholstery cleaner, odour neutraliser, jumbo sponge wash mitt and rim brush, as well as microfibre cloths made especially for the bodywork, glass, and plastic components.
GLOBAL INNOVATORS IN SYNTHETIC LUBRICANTS
Motul’s history of innovation – particularly in the field of synthetic lubricants, is truly unmatched.
In 1966 Motul brought the first semi-synthetic oil, Motul Century 2100, to the automotive industry, following this up, five years later, with 300V – the first fully synthetic motor oil onto the market, developed from Motul’s experience with Ester-based products in the aviation industry. Both of these products have defined the shape of the lubricant market ever since.
It is the 50th anniversary of 300V this year, and the product is still winning World Championships. 300V lubricates the Suzuki of current MotoGP champion, Joan Mir as well as Le Mans 24 Hours and World Endurance Championship LMP2 sportscar champions, United Autosport.
CASTED DRILLED FILLED
Motul’s business reflects its philosophy: “Casted, Drilled, Filled” as it provides metal working lubricants for the machining processes that transform melted metal into die casted metal structures and then the for the milling and drilling processes that transform the metal into finished parts. Ultimately, Motul, of course, provides lubricants to get the best performance for all types of engines.
Motul continues to use the race track as the development hub of its products. The technology then filters down, creating innovative products for its everyday motoring product range.
Partnerships are key to Motul’s long history of success and, as well as its OEM partnerships, Motul is also the official oil of Le Mans, the World Endurance Championship, MotoGP, the World Superbike Championship, Isle of Man TT, Dakar Rally and most recently both Silverstone’s Classic and the Goodwood Revival meeting.
