TRW is celebrating after having been awarded top marks in an industry benchmark test.

The company’s brake hose program placed top of the leaderboard following the tests, which also tested products from major competitors. The benchmark was carried out by the Automotive Manufacturers Equipment Compliance Agency.

In particular TRW’s product came out on top in the Volumetric Expansion test, where its low expansion rate offered superior pedal feel and increased stopping times.

Drum Brake and Actuation Product Manager Barbara Koefer said: “TRW’s brake hose program caters for 86 per cent of the European car parc; in real terms that means we have parts available to fit more than 220 million vehicles and we are the number one supplier. This result is testament to the quality of the product, the engineering and the research and development behind it.”
