Wendy Williamson

Wendy Williamson, Chief Executive of the IAAF has announced she is to retire later in the year.

Williamson took the helm at the IAAF in 2014 replacing Brian Spratt and presided over a period that has seen more change to our sector than any other. During her time she has lobbied on matters including the connected car and access to data, block exemption and Brexit tariffs. She also worked with the industry through a period of intense activity from private equity firms, trading group dominance and through rapid supplier consolidation.

Williamson received the CAT Award for Outstanding Achievement in recognition for her contribution in 2017.

She had previously headed up the the aftermarket section of SMMT, but she was better known in the aftermarket for her years at Truck and Trailer Components, and later as Communications Director at Unipart.

Williamson said: “I am so proud of what the IAAF has achieved in the past seven years and this is due to the collective effort of members and the Federation, working together and striving towards the same goals. The Federation has continued to lead the market and support businesses through all environments and I truly believe the industry is more united than ever before as it looks forward to a challenging but exciting future.

“I would obviously like to thank everyone, the IAAF team of Mike, Ann & Tina, the board, IAAF council and wider membership for all their support.”
