Fiesta 1.25L up to 2008 Petrol – Engine Management Issue

There is a common fault with the throttle position sensor contacts failing. Typical fault codes logged for this fault are P2119, P2135 or P2176. To fix the problem the technician will need to fit a new sensor, along with a revised wiring harness.

Fiesta 1400 2008 Diesel – Engine Management Issue

Drivers complain of an intermittent loss of power. This is accompanied with the powertrain / engine management light being illuminated. If the fault code P0380 is logged as an intermittent fault, then the cause can be an internal short circuit within the 7-pin glow plug relay. To fix the problem, the technician should replace the relay.

All Fiesta’s 2008 Onwards – Body Electrical Issue

There’s a common problem with the tailgate, which tends to open on its own accord when the vehicle is being driven on uneven roads. The cause of the issue is a short circuit of the tailgate opening micro switch, caused by water ingress. To fix a new tailgate switch is required.

Fiesta 2009 – Brakes

The brake servo / booster vacuum hose is prone to chaffing against an adjacent wiring loom. This causes a loss of brake servo assistance if the vacuum hose rubs through completely. Technicians when servicing should check the position of the brake vacuum hose and wiring loom to ensure there is no contact between them on 2009 Fiesta’s.
