The 2014 CAT Awards open for nominations soon and will include a new Extra Mile Award for the aftermarket individual or company that has gone above and beyond.

It is supported by BEN, the automotive industry charity, sponsored by Simply, part of JRP Distribution Ltd, and will be presented at the 2014 CAT Awards, once again to be held at Twickenham Rugby Stadium in February.

The Extra Mile Award aims to look beyond the good service and delivery that is expected of everyone in the aftermarket.

We want to find individuals or businesses that have made a genuine difference in other ways, and is open to every part of the aftermarket including retailers, workshops, factors and parts suppliers.

Kirsten Galvin, Marketing Manager at BEN is enthusiastic about the new award: “The Extra Mile Award is an exciting new initiative and a perfect fit for our charity,” she said.

“Exceeding expectations epitomises our approach to every facet of our organisation and is a mantra we share with many of the businesses operating in the UK aftermarket. We are therefore honoured and delighted to have been invited to participate in rewarding the efforts of those that go the ‘extra mile’, and ensuring they receive the recognition they deserve.”

Ollie Page, Director of JRP Distribution: “We wanted to be involved in the CAT Awards, but we wanted to do something different. We’re all in business to make profit, of course, but I hope that the industry can take time to find an individual or company that deserves recognition for going above and beyond.

“I’m delighted to be working with BEN with CAT on finding a winner for this new award and look forward to presenting it at Twickenham next February. Get your nominations in now.”

You can nominate a person, group or business for this particular award now by getting in touch with CAT Editor Peter Lawton.

“Tell us what they have done and why you think they deserve recognition,” he said.

“We want to tell the rest of the market about the good stories that are out there, and celebrate the work of one overall winner at our next awards.”

E-mail peter.lawton@haymarket.com with your nominations for the Extra Mile Award. Details of how to nominate for other awards will be announced soon.
