Extra Mile Award: Cat Automotive

The customer obviously always comes first and that’s why Greg Lee at Cat Automotive has to call us back when we ring to have a chat about their Extra Mile Award.

He’s sending out some orders, and he doesn’t want them to be late. There’s nothing unusual in that for a factor, but how many would follow the parts down to the workshop in person to help them out if they got stuck?

That’s exactly what Branch Manager Greg Lee and the team at Whitstable’s Cat Components will do, and it’s one reason they were nominated for the prize.

“We’re always happy to help. If we can’t do it from the branch we’ll go out to customer and help them there. We’re always at different garages trying to sort them out.

“It is a struggle, but we get it done. You’d be surprised with what we can do.”

Business is going so well for the branch that it’s having to move to a unit four times the size of the current location.

“It’s a bit chaotic at the moment,” says Lee. “We’ve got half the stock here, and half of it at the new unit, but it’s definitely moving forward, we’ll get there.”

It’s that can-do attitude again. You could earn millions from it if you could bottle it, but for Lee and the rest of the team it’s simply part of the service.

Workshops don’t just rely on Cat Automotive, they sometimes owe their very existence to it, so hats off to everyone there for going above and beyond.
