BEN opens its doors to former UA employees

by

Ben-and-UAAutomotive charity BEN has offered its support to former employees of Unipart Automotive.

The industry charity has urged the 1250 workers who lost their jobs when UA went into administration last week, to contact it for any support and help.

Nigel Rothband, Chief Operating Officer at BEN, said: “We are extremely saddened to have lost Unipart Automotive. However, our communities’ priority is to safeguard those who find themselves without employment.

“I am pleased the messages we are communicating are getting through; we have already received a number of calls from those affected and are providing support.”

BEN has a number of services it can offer to those affected by Unipart Automotive’s collapse, which include listening and advice services, to help those who are looking for support with existing monetary situations, on entitlement and application process for job seekers allowance and redundancy payment claims.

It also can help families affected by providing short-term financial assistance, and direct them to agencies and organisations best geared up to support their needs.

Rothband added that while he was delighted to see Andrew Page and the Parts Alliance secure 300 jobs, and Euro Car Parts pledge to make 1500 jobs available over the next 18 months to help those displace by UA, he maintained that BEN would be there for any ex-employee who felt they required any help or support in the interim.

  1. what fantastic support at a difficult time. This really demonstrates the value of BEN. More aftermarket businesses should get involved and support your industry charity. Start by attending the BEN Ball on December 10th. A great night out – the best in the industry.
