Motest boss is RMI’s 1st MOT chairman

John Ball, MD of Motest Autocare Centres, has taken the hot seat as the Retail Motor Industry Federation’s (RMI) first MOT chairman.

He will represent the interests of RMI member vehicle testing stations and take an active role negotiating terms for the MOT testing sector with government officials.

Ball owns a chain of 9 MOT stations in the south east of England and is a long standing member of the RMI.

He said:  “I look forward to the opportunities to support the MOT sector that this role will present.”

Rob Foultson, RMI chief executive, added:  ‘This new appointment will centralise and focus the RMI’s MOT activities.

“In the role of MOT chairman, John Ball will have full authority from the RMI board to negotiate with VOSA’s chief executive on MOT issues.”

Ball will also sit on the RMI’s Independent Garage Association Executive Committee and will chair the RMI’s MOT Steering Group.
