Alliance Automotive Group to launch NAPA BTCC team

Alliance Automotive Group has announced a plan to field a racing team in next year’s Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship.

Car will stay under wraps until the ASI show in January.

A two-car team, run in association with Motorbase Performance will be entered as part of a wider product development plan to promote and support the brand.

Commenting that it had been a long-standing ambition to field a touring car team, Steve Richardson, Managing Director of Alliance Automotive Group UK added: “It was important we identified the right investment opportunities for the brand, and we believe that the 2022 British Touring Car Championship is the right time to further strengthen the position of NAPA in the UK”.

Noting how large the NAPA brand is in the US, Team Principal Pete Osborne said: “Over the last few months working with the NAPA team, you can see clearly what their targets are, and they align perfectly with ours”.

Driver announcement will follow, and the car will be revealed at Autosport International in January.
