LKQ Euro Car Parts picks up award for driver safety

LKQ Euro Car Parts has been recognised for excellence in driver safety at the UK Fleet Champions Awards hosted by road safety charity, Brake.

The aftermarket firm picked up the Company Driver Safety Award in the large fleet category, at the awards ceremony hosted at the Royal Armouries in Leeds.

The company operates a fleet of more than 3600 vehicles in the UK & Ireland, which connect customers to its network of 280 branches alongside its warehouses and logistics hubs.

This year, LKQ Euro Car Parts introduced an integrated risk management platform that combines data from across the risk spectrum, including driver telematics, vehicle damage, incidents, fuel use, license checks and accident information.

The firm says this provides a full picture of individual risk while assessing the right and most appropriate e-learning interventions, enabling the company to specifically target behaviours and the best ways of supporting company drivers. The company has also run its fleet safety awareness campaign Drive Safe: Do the Right Thing since 2021

Kevan Wooden, chief commercial officer, LKQ UK & Ireland said: “This award recognises the fantastic work of our fleet team. One of our top priorities as a business is to ensure our drivers are safe – both on and off the road – and we have a variety of initiatives in place to promote this, including our internal Drive Safe: Do the Right Thing safety awareness campaign.

“Made up of various elements, this campaign provides all fleet colleagues with educational courses and workshops covering a range of topics, including driving in extreme weather conditions.”
