The future looked bleak for 8 employees at Birmingham based Commercial Clutch Services Ltd. That is, until a successful sale to restructuring and turnaround firm MCR saved them from redundancy.

CCR, which has its headquarters in Aston, Birmingham, has been focused on the sales of spare parts for the commercial vehicle market since its establishment in 1999. However following declining sales and an increasingly tight cash-flow situation the company went into administration early last month.

MCR has now moved in to save the day, successfully selling the company to a third party buyer, HGV Direct Limited, based in Derbyshire. HGV specialises in truck and trailer hardware, operating from depots in the East Midlands and North West.

John Whitfield, the MCR partner who oversaw the sale commented: “MCR has worked closely with a number of companies in the market and rapidly found a buyer, which has been able to bring with it the benefits of scale. We are delighted with the outcome as it has protected both jobs and customers alike.”
