Ford has announced a new Accident Management programme, hoping to help customers organise repairs through the company’s own repair centres, rather than through independent garages.

Ford are saying the new Accident Management system will be rolled out to all new and used Ford owners in the UK, regardless of insurance company.

Owners will have to contact a special hotline, which will help them arrange to get repair work carried out at the nearest Ford garage.

Going live from next month, Ford will be keen to see how customers react to the new system. The company says advisors will be able to take advantage of swifter communications between insurers and the Ford repair network.

Paul McDermott, collision repair manager for Ford of Britain said: “We are pleased to be developing a fresh approach to accident management which will benefit our customers, our repair network and the insurance industry.”
