FRIDAY FUNNY: MANNEQUINS AND LIGHTBULBS…WHAT’S IN YOUR CAR?

What could be left behind in your car?
What could be left behind in your car?

Question: What does a false leg, a set of fluffy handcuffs and a black piper’s hat have in common?

No you’re quite wrong. They’re actually all items forgotten and left in Europcar hire cars.

The leasing company recently revealed its extensive listings of the unusual items left behind once a vehicle had been returned. Among those items on the list were the usual sunglasses, mobile phones and wallets. But also a printer, 50 fluorescent lightbulbs and more than £1000 worth of designer clothing.

Europcar has also revealed some of the excuses offered by drivers explaining damage done to hire cars. One driver reported that the reason for part of his front bumper being torn off was that a lion had clawed the car while visiting a zoo.

Another customer told the company that a horse had sat on his bonnet, while another revealed having a collision with a cow.

But it’s not just animals that feature on the list of excuses. Customers have reported losing cars inside multi-storey car parks, neighbors helpfully giving their keys away to dustmen, and keys going missing while customers took a nap.

Can you do any better? What excuses would you use? Let us know below.
