FPS is hoping for an Olympic win with its sponsorship of young hurdler Alex Pozzi.

The automotive distributor first started helping Pozzi through an association with his local athletics club in Bath, also the location of FPS’ main office. The company agreed to help fund Pozzi’s traveling costs, provided him with a car. and employees at the FPS have been keeping up to date with his success.

Pozzi has progressed well throughout 2012, qualifying for team GB after winning the UK Athletic Championships in Birmingham last month.

The young hurdler’s original target was to qualify for the 2016 Olympics, but thanks to some very strong wins during 2011 Pozzi was able to move up his ambitions.

Commenting on his success Pozzi said: “I’m on top of the world. My preparation in the last week or so has been quite disturbed and I was unsure whether I could come here and achieve what I wanted. To get that done, get that all out the way and come here and win, I’m absolutely chuffed.”

The first heats for Pozzi’s event, the 110m hurdles, takes place on 7th August with the semi-finals taking place a day later. We wish him the best of luck.
