SOLVENT SUPPLIES LTD ACQUIRES SWS

Yorkshire based Leading Solvent Supplies Ltd, has acquired the assets, including production facility and stock of a Doncaster based competitor, preventing 24 possible redundancies.

SWS Doncaster

The acquired firm is Solvents With Safety (SWS) which is based at Bircotes, near Doncaster. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

SWS was incorporated in the early 1980s, before being acquired by chemical firm Tradebe in 2014.

The deal co-incides with significant expansion for Leading Solvents,  as it has leased an additional 16,000 sq ft of space at Marston Moor Business Park. The company also relocated its automotive distributor, BIG supplies, from Warrington to the Tockwith site earlier in the year.

Derek Walker, MD at Leading Solvents, said: “This deal gives our customers access to a wider product range than ever before, as well as enhancing our service levels. Crucially, increasing our footprint at Tockwith will enable us to effectively accommodate this broadened portfolio.”
