People News: Changes at LKQ as CEO Arnd Franz leaves for Mahle

Arnd Franz, CEO of LKQ Europe since 2019 is leaving to return to Mahle, a company which he had previously held Director-level positions in since 2001.

Although CEO for a relatively short amount of time, Franz was the architect of the ‘One LKQ’ strategy which merged numerous systems, buying patterns and brand identities into a handful of common styles.

Succeeding Franz is Varun Laroyia, the current CFO of the U.S business, Laroyia’s new title will encompass both the CEO and Managing Director of LKQ Europe. Prior to joining LKQ he spend over nine years in senior positions at Johnson Controls, owner of Varta among other brands.

Varun Laroyia

Rick Galloway, Chief Financial Officer of LKQ’s Wholesale – North America and Self Service segments, replaces Laroyia as LKQ’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. 

In the UK, LKQ Euro Car Parts’ CEO Andy Hamilton has welcomed the moves, saying: “We continue to be committed to offering a market-leading customer experience, and I look forward to building on this with Varun and the European team.”
