Bosch has opened the gates on its Boxberg proving ground to racers taking part in the prestigious Formula Student competition.

The supplier welcomed 21 race cars and more than 200 students to its Boxberg facility last week, altogether paying host to 35 teams from both the Formula Student Electric and Formula Student Combustion disciplines.

The two day event gave the students a chance to learn from Bosch’s engineers, and take advantage of its facilities. Universities from all over Germany took part in the event, while Bosch itself sponsors teams from The UK, France, Austria and Australia as well as Germany.

Bosch says it supports the Formula Student competition, which is designed to involve more students in the practical aspects of engineering. Bosch supports teams with technical workshops on different topics, components and financial assistance.
