HiQ is offering new service packages

The recession has forced motorists to skip their annual service to save money according to HiQ, the tyre and service specialist.

New figures suggest that 36% of drivers have chosen not to have their cars serviced because they can’t afford the payments.

HiQ commercial manager Farrell Dolan said: “Relying on the MOT has been how a lot of motorists have been judging their vehicle performance.

“This has meant we are seeing a lot more vehicles arriving with major faults and minor faults that would have been picked up on a normal service.”

HiQ has devised two new service packages to combat the issue, with its new “Gold” and “Silver” services offering an affordable answer to maintaining your car.
