With 2013 now well underway it’s time to look forward to some of the trade events that will be shaping the aftermarket calendar this year.

While there’s no Automechanika to look forward to in Frankfurt in 2013 there are at least other fairs of the same name going on around the globe. December’s Automechanika in Shanghai broke records for visitor participation, as well as exhibitors. A 33 percent increase in international exhibitors and products from 37 countries on display made sure the show went well and rounded off the global aftermarket trade calendar with a bang.

This year Automechanika has again embarked on an ambitious calendar of shows, hitting places like New Delhi between 7-10 February and then heading to Istanbul in Turkey between 11-14 April. New Delhi is already shaping up to be a massive show for the group, with over 250 exhibitors from 12 countries. In fact, organizers are saying the show is sold out with over a month still to go before doors open.

The trade tour continues in May with the return of Autopromotec. The Italian aftermarket event attracted 1473 exhibitors, 37 percent of which were international companies. Add to that the 103,000 visitors that attended the show over its five day run and it’s easy to make a viable proposition for going to the show this year.

One of the biggest European aftermarket trade fairs this year will come in the form of Equip Auto. Between 16-20 October the Paris Nord Exhibition Centre will play host to aftermarket companies from France, Europe and beyond. The organizers say they want three things to happen at the 2013 event – more exhibitors, more activities and more visitors.
