Euro Car Parts (ECP) has opened its third national distribution centre (NDC), as it looks to future proof the business.
The new Bonehill facility situated in Tamworth, Staffordshire has been created to help with ECP’s push towards 165 branches across the UK by the end of 2014.
The new 258,000 sq ft facility is located close by to ECP’s 600,000 sq ft unit opened in 2010 and 15 miles away from the collision repair parts facility in 141,000 sq ft Swadlincote.
Steve Horne, Director at Euro Car Parts, said: “Our new facility at Bonehill will significantly boost the warehouse capacity for the company, as we continue our ambitious branch opening programme during 2014 and beyond.
“Independent garages are the bedrock of our business and this site means unprecedented levels of logistical support which translates to even higher levels of customer service.”
In addition to providing extra facilities to cope with the larger demands of distributing stock, ECP has announced that the new facility in Bonehill will also have a dedicated 15,000 sq ft training academy, with the aim of working with key suppliers to create a first class training programme.
The state-of-the-art centre has 15 docking bays and will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Its location also means it is easily accessible by the M42, M6, M6 Toll, M5 and M40.
