Euro Car Parts invests £3m in communications infrastructure

Euro Car Parts has announced that it will spend £3m on a new data and communication network.

The factor group has signed a 5-year deal with the SAS Group, an international provider of IP-based network and managed communication services.

The contract will see the SAS Group take responsibility for ECP’s entire network estate of over 70 sites, including all of the company’s voice and data communications.

It is expected to make a dramatic improvement in the provision of network services and reduce downtime.

David Bevan, director of ECP said: “Our infrastructure is crucial to the business: amongst other things it runs our phone system and our ERP system – everything that allows customers to effectively transact with us.

“Therefore we needed a first-class, world-class company to support it. We’re confident we’ve found that in SAS.”

The network installation project should be complete by the end of 2009.
