Supercar giant Ferrari has launched its 2013 apprenticeship programme to create future independent specialists.
The 11 successful applicants will take part in the three-year scheme, which includes 24 weeks of dedicated training at the home of Ferrari North Europe, and employment at dedicated Ferrari dealerships across the UK.
The trainees will receive intensive training on all aspects of diagnosis, service and repair techniques to maintain the current range of Ferraris, including the California, 458 Italia, F12 Berlinetta and the flagship FF. They will also receive guidance on solving issues with the F430 and 612 Scaglietti.
Matteo Torre, Regional Manager for Ferrari North Europe said they have been overwhelmed with the interest in the apprenticeship scheme, as more than 1100 people applied for a place.
He added: “The project is part of the Ferrari philosophy of investing in young talent and we are proud to continue this philosophy through the Ferrari North Europe Apprentice Programme.”
Once the trainees finish their three-year scheme, they will graduate as fully qualified Ferrari technicians. However, the training does not end there, as they receive on-going education into the advances and changes in the technology.
Torre added: “It is part of a structured career development path, as we need to constantly train technicians on new processes, methods and technology every time we introduce a new car.”
