by

080904-a-breFord Retail has announced a new brake pads for life scheme that follows similar intiatives from Halfords and KwikFit.

Customers buying a used car from the 65-strong dealer chain will also benefit from free lifetime brake pads and fitting.

It hopes it will increase the number of motorists returning to the dealership for servicing.

David McNamara, Managing Director at Ford Retail, said: “We hope offering free brake pads and fitting will encourage more people to service their cars more often.”

Halford Autocentres and KwikFit also offer a life guarantee on pad replacement and fitting once the first set has been purchased. Halfords says its guarantee can be transferred to a new vehicle or owner if the original car covered is sold.
