GSF is to create a new department within its Birmingham head office to focus on the accident repair market.
The new team will cover the service and sales/administration of bodyshop equipment, components, service parts and consumables.
Richard Swann, GSF Marketing Director, said: “Our commitment to the accident repair market is an important part of a broad GSF business growth strategy
“It makes full use of our existing supplier network of premier brands such as Bosch, Hella, LuK, TRW and Valeo, while opening up a new revenue opportunity and the pathway to providing a valuable and highly efficient resource to bodyshops.â€
GSF Commercial Business Manager Mark Higson will recruit the new team and said: “With bodyshops under massive financial pressure, we have developed a business strategy which is focused on highly-competitive pricing, a good inventory, rapid delivery and a high level of personal service.â€
The decision to expand the accident repair offering is notably close to the publication of Euro Car Parts’ first collision repair catalogue.
ECP is trying to match the US crash repair business success of its new owner LKQ in the UK, while also hopes the market can bring growth to its door.
ECP has also recently appointed Richard Taylor as Head of Collision Repair and is aiming to eventually have a specialist in each of its 100+ branches.
