Matt Davies has been announced as the new Chief Executive for the Halfords Group.
Starting today, the former Chief Executive of Pets At Home will take charge of the car and bike parts chain.
Halfords has been looking to fill the gap left by departing head David Wild in July. Davies has a lot of retail experience and should bring some interesting attributes to the group.
Chairman for Halfords Dennis Millard said: “The Board is delighted to have recruited such a high-calibre leader as Matt. He has many years of retail experience, impeccable service credentials and the energy and ability to drive Halfords forward.
“He joins us at an opportune time for the company.â€
Davies is billed as the man who led Pets At Home to its current market-leading status, having built the network up from 140 to over 300 stores.
Davies said: “I am very excited to be joining Halfords, a group which has a real opportunity to optimise its offer, performance and value to customers and shareholders. Together with the rest of the Halfords team, I look forward to ensuring Halfords achieves its full potential in the years ahead.â€
