Normally the reason for failing an MOT would be something mechanical and (usually) something expensive to fix.
That’s certainly what 81-year-old Alf James thought when he was lead into the workshop to see why his 11-year-old Peugeot 106 had failed its annual service.
Imagine his surprise when the bemused mechanics told him that two of his cylinder heads were completely blocked… with honey.
Mr. James has already had problems with bees in his garden but he never dreamed they would find a perfect home in the bonnet of his car.
Neil Wright, the manager of G&N Auto Co Ltd, the Bosch Car Service garage where the car was tested, said: “In nearly 25 years of working in this business, I have never seen anything like this! The car was misfiring and running badly.â€
Mr. James said: “I thought the garage was playing a trick on me, I thought it was a joke.â€
Brilliant! The honey would have tasted smokey
