The Independent Garage Association says the response it has received from garages for its pioneering Car Repair Plan has exceeded expectations.
It has witnessed a number of its Trust My Garage members sign up to be involved with this scheme ahead of its imminent launch.
The IGA’s Car Repair Plan has been tailored specifically for independent garages and has been designed to provide motorists with a shield from unexpected repair costs.
All the workshops involved with this initiative need to be a member of Trust My Garage and it is hoped it will encourage repeat business for those involved.
Stuart James, Director for the IGA, said: “The Car Repair Plan has the potential to be one of the largest of its kind and will offer consumers something unique.
“People are generally moving towards the independent sector, and this, along with the professionalism and dedication to the highest standards of skill and personal service that all IGA members meet provides further evidence that an independent garage should be the first choice for consumers.”
The repair plan will allow motorists to register all their vehicles to a funding account, where they paid direct debits at their flexibility, which can be used to pay for all or part of the cost for repairs, servicing or MOTs.
