Inside Line: Contitech

CT_PTG_Belt_Wear_TesterThanks to a new tester from the ContiTech Power Transmission Group, checking the condition of multiple
V-ribbed belts is now easy for workshops. The belt wear tester reliably detects the degree of wear by checking the profile geometry of the individual ribs. This enables professionals to determine precisely whether the multiple V-ribbed belt needs to be changed.

Multiple V-ribbed belt wear – as a result of the effects of heat, deposits and operationally induced abrasion in the ancillary component drive – is not always visible with the naked eye. A belt’s condition should therefore always be checked during maintenance activities. The belt wear tester from ContiTech reliably determines the level of wear and gives the workshop peace of mind. The test does not replace the specified belt change intervals, but instead helps experts make assessments. The tester comes with an instruction manual.

There is also a product film showing how to operate it. The video is available from the ‘Service & Accessories’ section of the company’s website at www.contitech.de/aam. You can also view the video on the ContiTech channel of the YouTube internet portal at www.youtube.com/user/contitechptgaam. If you are registered with YouTube, you can, in addition, subscribe to the ContiTech channel and thus ensure that you are always up to date.
