VOSA has a record of a recall for cars built between 14 December 2005 and 16 February 2006 to have the brake light switch replaced due to the switch melting as a result of the grease in the contacts overheating. Technicians should be aware of this when diagnosing brake lights not working.
Crankshaft sensors make up 27 percent of top ten selling Cambiare lines for the Clio model, being fitted to resolve poor start or running problems, followed by Ignition leads and coils at 23 percent. Engine management coolant sensor sales are slightly ahead of the ignition parts at 24 percent of the top ten sellers, being fitted to resolve both cold start and hot running problems and high fuel consumption.
Brake light switches, not being replaced as part of the VOSA recall account for over 9 percent of the Top Ten sellers indicating that the failure still occurs outside of the recall date range but not for the same condition.
