Forté’s Technical Helpline receives over 300 calls per month and have reported an issue on Vauxhall Corsa three Cylinder ecotec engines with top end noise. This is a common fault and can be caused by the paper element oil filter collapsing and breaking up causing excessive oil return to the sump and a blockage in the oil pick-up. The cause of the problem is due to extended oil change intervals.
To cure the fault it is recommended to remove, check and clean the sump/oil pick-up and carry out a Clean & Protect treatment: 45 minute Forté Advanced Formula Motor Flush adding Forté Oil System Protector to the new oil.
