MAM SOFTWARE PROVES PROFITABLE FOR PITSTOP

Pitstop Auto Factors is reporting an increase in both productivity and profitability after installing MAM’s Autopart software.

Autopart is Pitstop’s first computer system. The company was previously using a completely manual process where all stock and account information was stored in the memory of the company’s owner, David Way.

He said: “We had resisted an on-site computer solution for years. We have used MAM Software’s Autocat+ system since 2008 but never installed any form of business management software, instead choosing to invest in new stock.

“Up until now all information on stock levels and part details had just been committed to memory, which served us well enough before the business entered a period of continued growth.”

Way said that as he continued to hire new staff and invest in new stock lines, his old system became unmanageable. After visiting MAM at a trade show in October last year, Way finally made the decision to invest in a computerized system.

He says that six months in to using the Autopart system, his only regret is that he didn’t install it sooner.

MAM’s managing director Mike Jamieson said: “Parts suppliers, wholesale distributors and accessory retailers all benefit from Autopart’s wealth of functionality. While it offers extensive capabilities, it remains intuitive enough for companies such as Pitstop – who have never used business management software before – to see an immediate return on their investment.”
