Manbat moves to new distribution centre

Manbat is moving to a new distribution centre in Shrewsbury.

The battery supplier has been at its current address –also in Shrewsbury – for the past 13 years. However continued expansion means the business has been forced to seek larger accommodation.

The new centre, located on Lancaster road in the town, provides 31,000 sq. feet of warehousing space. An efficient design is said to be at the heart of the new location, allowing goods to be received, stored and dispatched faster than ever before.

Steve Sheppard, Manbat’s managing director said: “Manbat’s prime concern has always been to enable our customers to sell more batteries and maintain their margins in the process.

Part of that ethos is a commitment to examine, and were necessary, improve our internal procedures, in order to further support our customers. The move into a new head office and distribution centre is latest element of this on-going plan.”

Sheppard also commented that part of the reason for moving to a site so close to the company’s current location was to ensure that current staff would be able to continue working. He said Manbat wanted to achieve a “seamless transfer.”
