Rising Star of the Year: Matthew Say from Mann+Hummel UK

Aftermarket newcomers had a tough fight on their hands with this new award which aimed to applaud those that have made a significant contribution to their business, whether they are new to the industry or have contributed over a number of years and have shown progression throughout their career.

Given the calibre and standing of some of the nominees, it seems that the future of the industry is in safe hands. Pete George of Award sponsor PG Automotive comments “The standard of the nominees is incredibly high and they all deserve recognition for their contribution to the aftermarket.”

This is especially true of the winner Matthew Say, Aftermarket Director at Mann+Hummel UK.

For Say the award recognises more than his contribution to the business.

“At the risk of sounding very cliché, you can only win this award if you have three key components: a dedicated professional team around you; excellent customers; and high quality product.

“I am very fortunate to work for a market-leading business that benefits from all of these areas. This award represents a team effort, rather than individual excellence.

“The entire team at Mann+Hummel live our values. This mentality is shared with our distributors, many of which have sold our brand for the last 12 years.

“The immediate future presents some challenges and opportunity. Our partners can be assured that Mann+Hummel is well-placed to meet market demands and changes. As Aftermarket Director, I embrace this and look forward to another positive year in partnership.

“After 17 years of working in the aftermarket I don’t believe I have experienced a period of such change, investment and consolidation. The shape of the aftermarket is constantly changing.

“We must remain close to our customers and move with market trends. We have a good record of being adaptable to market demands and growing in partnership.

“We are very customer-centric and continue to invest in the UK. Our staff are highly experienced and deserve recognition for the work they do to help differentiate from our competitors.

CAT congratulates Matthew on this award recognising his contribution to the aftermarket. He has now set a high standard for nominees in future years.
