The Sogefi Group has been named as an exclusive tier one supplier of key components for the new PSA Euro 6 compliant diesel engines.
PSA is producing the new 2.0-litre Blue HDI DW10F engine series in three variants, each producing 132, 147 and 176 bhp respectively.
This engine will be used in a number of vehicles, including the Peugeot 308, 508, 3008, 5008, RCZ and Expert, and Citroën’s C4, C4 Picasso, C5, DS4, DS5 and Jumpy.
Sogefi was chosen to supply the oil, air and diesel filter modules and an innovative three-way coolant valve for the Euro 6 compliant engines.
The chosen oil filter module for the new PSA Blue HDI will be part of an auto-adaptive oil maintenance system that optimises the filtration performance. This filter will then monitor the degradation of the oil, and produce an alert to the driver when it is in need of changing to ensure the vehicle maintains its optimal performance.
The new three-way coolant valve plays a pivotal role in the water draining system, the air filter and the oil and diesel filter modules. The valve controls three different circuits in rapid sequence, which allows it to make adjustments to the engine operating temperature. It allows the optimum temperature to be reached quickly from a cold start, and provides quicker adjustments to the temperature felt within the passenger compartment.
The new air and diesel filter modules provides the desired levels of protection for the new PSA DW10F engine in order to be compliant with Euro 6. Sogefi adds that while all these new parts will be supplied to the PSA Group, it will make all the filters available for the 2.0-litre Blue HDI to the aftermarket through its brands – Purflux, CoopersFiaam, Fram and Tecnocar.
Andrea Taschini, General Manager of Sogefi’s Aftermarket Business Unit, said: “Our engineers have repeatedly proven that Sogefi advanced filter technologies are first choice for global operating OEMs.
“This creates positive, sustainable results and our aftermarket customers benefit in terms of vehicle performance, product quality, reliability and durability.”
