The Parts Alliance reveals its 2015 strategy

Parts-Alliance_300pxThe Parts Alliance has revealed its plans for 2015 a day after Andrew Page ceased being an associate member.

Peter Sephton, Chief Executive of PA, announced three new initiatives including, improving its national coverage and garage network, and making ordering and delivering parts faster than before.

PA plans to increase its reach across the UK by creating a franchise network for independent factors to distribute parts, similar to the scheme Andrew Page announced yesterday.

It has also updated its electronic cataloguing system with the launch of AlliCat X, which has been quoted as 25 percent quicker than its predecessor, and also covers menu pricing and GS One Stop. PA will be strengthening its garage network proposition by increasing the benefits its members receive.

Sephton adds: “Our promise is ‘national coverage, local strength’ and the creation of our Parts Alliance Factors programme is a prime example of how we will be working with independent factors to guarantee complete coverage of the UK with effective local delivery on the ground.

“We have made outstanding progress this year on several fronts as we have continued our long term investment plan.

“Strategic purchases such as Car Parts and Accessories (CPA) are a clear statement of our ongoing commitment to acquire and invest in high quality, profitable factors, along with infrastructure, to create a sustainable market leading position for The Parts Alliance.”

The funding made available from HgCapital’s automotive fund is crucial to The Parts Alliance’s strategy for 2015 as it allows the group to create a stability and security in an otherwise volatile market. Sephton also said that Andrew Page leaving PA was solely down to a fast moving market, adding:

“We originally came back together in good faith to benefit from the synergy of our two businesses. But in a rapidly evolving market, we now believe the most beneficial way forward for long-term growth is for us to act as separate entities.

“We will continue to work with Andrew Page as our partner on selected national account contracts that The Parts Alliance hold.”
