Toyota is encouraging its garages to apply for the BSI Kitemark accreditation scheme.

The BSI operates the Kitemark, which certifies those garages that have reiced PAS 125 standard.

The Kitemark is designed to recognise those garages that provide quality work to customers, as well as improving the image of those garages in the eye of the consumer by pointing them out as reliable sources of repair.

The RRG Accident Repair Centre in Bolton was one of the first Toyota garages to gain the coverted accreditation. RRG was also one of the first garages to become part of the Toyota repair network back in 1971.

Darren Rostron, general manager at RRG said: “It’s fantastic that Toyota is leading the way by mandating its approved repairers achieve the Kitemark standard. It shows a true commitment to quality and customer service. I do think that most repairers that are on the Toyota approved repairer scheme will embrace this positive step forward, those that don’t, well that speaks volumes.”

Steve Settle, director of customer service at Toyota added: “Toyota sees Kitemark certification as a progressive step towards ensuring continual improvement in repair quality and integrity. Kitemark also helps raise the profile of its repair solution in the eyes of Toyota owners.”
