Trico has won a contract worth an estimated €5m to supply its blades on an exclusive basis to Statoil service stations in Scandinavia.

The supply deal will run for five years starting in September.

Statoil has a 23% percent share of the Scandnavian fuel supply market and operates approximately 1800 service stations across Scandinavia, Poland, Russia and the Baltic states.

Following a 12-month ‘trial’ period in Sweden, the new contract will see Trico provide a range of replacement blades for retail at service stations in Denmark and Norway as well.

Nigel Cole, Trico’s aftermarket sales director, said: “We have made considerable strides over the last two years to return Trico to a position of being the leading windscreen wiper brand in Europe.

“This contract takes us one step closer to that leadership position.”
