JLR partners with eBay in parts push for classic models

EBay will now sell genuine parts for classic Land Rover and Jaguar models as part of a partnership with JLR.

It follows a push from the online retailer to take a chunk of the aftermarket sector, targeting the sector’s well-established firms.

“Our strength is in our range of products,” eBay’s parts lead Laura Richards previously told CAT. “We have one of the largest coverages of brands and products when it comes to vehicle parts. It’s crazy big.”

This now includes the new JLR Classic eBay stores that supply original and authentic OEM parts for models that have been out of production for 10 years or more.

Together, the Official Land Rover Classic Parts and Official Jaguar Classic Parts stores already include more than 5000 listings – from a period-correct Jaguar E-type toolkit to an entire tail door assembly for a 2007 Land Rover Defender.

It even includes genuine parts for everything from a Daimler Limousine to an XJS coupe or X-Type saloon.

Glen Kelly, head of parts and accessories, JLR Classic, said: “We want to help enthusiasts find our uniquely original and authentic collection of parts and accessories as easily and conveniently as possible.

“The new official Jaguar and Land Rover eBay stores will give clients more choice in how they purchase the items they need, improving accessibility to our genuine Classic parts for our Jaguar, Range Rover, Defender and Discovery brands.’’

Based in Coventry, JLR Classic creates accurate recreations of original parts and items, engineered using original drawings, materials and tooling to ensure 100% authenticity – often produced by the original supplier.
