The UK Detailing Academy has been announced as the education partner and curator of the Automechanika Birmingham 2023’s Detailing Live programme, hosting practical demonstrations and kicking off insightful discussions about the sector’s challenges and opportunities.

Detailing Live launches at Automehanika Birmingham 2023

Taking place during Automechanika Birmingham on the 6th – 8th June, the programme will provide the latest information on new technologies, including polishing technology and chemical innovation, as well as lending a voice to the existing bodies within the industry to allow them to experience more growth and maximise potential opportunities available.

UK Detailing Academy produces and delivers a wide selection of tailored detailing training courses for professional and aspiring detailers, working alongside respected industry bodies.

It is recognised by the Professional Valeters & Detailers Trade Association, and the International Detailing Association for its assessment and skills training, which it delivers to companies, professionals, new businesses, and enthusiasts, both at its training centre in Gloucestershire and around the world.

The Academy will use this expertise to bring the latest training direct to professional detailers of all levels, covering all aspects of the industry, as it looks to reflect and increase the safety standards and the high quality of workmanship.

Sessions will include a mixture of informative presentations and the opportunity to participate in insightful discussions, as well as hands-on demonstrations with a variety of tools during the course of the show.

Richard March, director of training at UK Detailing Academy, said: “Detailing is a growth sector but it’s essential that professionals embrace upcoming opportunities in order to thrive. The industry is full of experienced professionals and it’s important that they have access to the appropriate training and information on the latest technical innovations if we’re to retain this hive of talent and make businesses as sustainable as possible.

“As an organisation, we’re trying to win the skills shortage battle by implementing formal training, as an increase in training leads to a direct increase in quality and safety standards. Detailing Live will provide the perfect platform in order to achieve this and we’re looking forward to offering our support through this dedicated programme at Automechanika Birmingham.”

Bert Youell, editor at PRO Detailer, added: “We are really looking forward to Automechanika 2023 in Birmingham, even more so than normal as it will be playing host to plethora of Car Care and Detailing manufacturers and suppliers in a new dedicated area. As consumer demand grows for professional detailing services in the UK, Automechanika plays an essential role by connecting different parts of the industry together.

“Successful Professional Detailing relies on access to education so it is great to see UK Detailing Academy providing a hub at the show for all visitors to learn about the various skills required, as well as showcasing what the latest products and tools can achieve.”
