Men’s Health Week takes place from June 14, and this year industry charity Ben is focussing on prostate cancer. With 1 in 8 men diagnosed with prostate cancer, they are sharing some information on what prostate cancer is, the symptoms and those who are more likely to be at risk.
In an industry that employs a significant number of men, everyone has a duty to help men stay safe and encourage them to look after their health and wellbeing.
Prostate cancer
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, especially men over 50. The risk is even higher for black men and men with a family history of prostate cancer. So it’s important to be extra vigilant if a close relative has been diagnosed.
We have information and advice to help people understand what prostate cancer is, the symptoms and those who are more likely to be at risk. We also link to resources to help start a conversation with a GP.
Getting checked early on can make all the difference, as Derren found out. Derren Martin, Head of Valuations at cap hpi has shared his story to help raise awareness & encourage men to get checked out sooner – watch his story here.
