HAYNES TO STOP PRINTING NEW WORKSHOP MANUALS

Yeovil-based publishing house Haynes is to stop printing physical copies of new manuals.

Reprints of existing titles will still be available to order and on sale through existing vendors, plus production of ‘lifestyle’ titles will not be affected.  However, the news will come as a blow to accessory shops, where selling physical manuals has been a staple for many years.

In a statement, the firm said it is to replace printed manuals with “a new automotive maintenance and repair product that will cover around 95 percent of car makes and models” saying more information on this new product will be available ‘in due course’.

Haynes was acquired by France-based data provider InfoPro in a deal announced in February 2020 and completed in April, one year after the death of founder John Haynes.
